Neil M Perry Illustrator, Designer, Printmaker

Work in Context

Artist Profile.

Neil M. Perry is a self-taught illustrator and screen printer with creative roots in Edinburgh, Scotland. In 2008, Neil founded Green Tees (www.greenteesapparel.co.uk), an ethically sound and environmentally conscious screen-print and design practice. Green Tees' current line is comprised of comic images inspired by an appreciation of wildlife and nature, fused with his ever-expanding imagination.

Presently visiting the United States on a business visa, Neil will promote and exhibit his work to an American audience in 2010.

It is a fundamental part of Neil’s philosophy to work with a diverse range of clients; so far the majority of these have been in the realm of independent music. Neil has done commissioned editorial illustrations and worked as a designer and printer for not-for-profit organizations. Recently, he has begun to diversify his skills by producing print multiples only available in boutique galleries, illustrating and jointly authoring literary works, and creating large wall paintings in the U.K.

In the immediate future, Neil is eager to produce and curate inclusive exhibitions. These will be built around paintings that depict the core narrative of his work. Including clothing, apparel and other commercial items screen-printed with elements from the collection.

Where possible, Neil will also seek to alter the environment in which his work is being shown through murals or floor paintings.
